Neil Howard was born in Bangor, Maine. After joining the Army and completing Officer Candidate School at Ft. Benning, Georgia, he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant. Howard received a Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service in combat during his tour of duty in Vietnam.

Upon returning from Vietnam he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New Hampshire. After earning his Master of Fine Arts degree from Smith College Mr. Howard joined the faculty of Mary Washington College as an Instructor in Dramatic Arts. The next year he founded the Fredericksburg Summer Theatre and served as its Producing Director for four years.

Mr. Howard later left Mary Washington College for a position with the U.S. Government and has held assignments in Germany, California, Massachusetts and Florida. Owing to events arising out of Operation Desert Storm, he accepted a brief assignment in Saudi Arabia.

He now works with the Air Force at Hurlburt Field, Florida.

The author’s first two books, Student Body and Hunter’s Prey were published under a prior imprint, The Lighthouse Press, Inc. His third novel, Bloody Mamma Blues debuted in 2014 and he is working on a fourth. In addition, he has penned fifteen children’s stories, three plays, and numerous travel articles for the European Stars And Stripes. Neil Howard resides in Gulf Breeze, Florida.
