Of Intellectual Property Rights

Rights we presently offer (to download a

The
Wayfarers
In 1904, in an event almost forgotten in history
took place as a group of young Jews began a slow
and dangerous trek by foot across a hostile
Europe. These wayfarers, or
fusgeyers, were organized groups of
disenfranchised, disenchanted, and downtrodden
Jews, who suffered fear, endless trade boycotts,
government-enforced impoverishment, and deadly
pogroms in their native Romania. Their attempt to
emigrate to freedom in America is a story of
courage, endurance, and pridebut more than
that, it is a story of hope. These young people
risked their lives in a protest which was bound
to affect generations to come, and will surely
touch audiences today. Shot on digital film, the
production will follow the incredible journey of
the fusgeyers, narrated by the warm, rich voice
of Rabbi Nachman, from todays Birlad,
Romania.
Reenactments record the
journey of these Fusgeyers interspersed with
bright colorful scenes of their descendants of
today searching for their ancestors. The
subjective camera technique, filming events from
the memory of an old respected rabbi, brings to
life scenes never before reported and naturally
dramatizes the suspense. The reenactments
punctuating the film will serve as visual support
to the dramatic lives of the main characters as
they carry their protest on their way to freedom
through an imperialistic 1904 Europe. (*Note:
From 1899-1914, this phenomenon resulted in
several hundred fusgeyer groups trekking across
Europe to the ports on the North Sea.)
The
Documentary
Between 1881 and 1914, 2.5
million Jews emigrated from Eastern Europe and
the Pale of Settlement in Russia to new homes in
America and other countries around the
world. The Fusgeyer Movement,
as this migration has been known, will be filmed
using archival footage and narrated by Theo
Bikel, noted screen actor.

The Re-birth Of A Genre
As America reconsiders her identity the unique
tales of the Old West are making a revival. Every
few years the Western theme experiences a
resurgence of popular films and Oscar-winners
like Eastwood's Unforgiven, Costner's Dances With
Wolves (based upon the debut novel by Michael
Blake), Lonesome Dove (based upon Larry
McMurtry's novel) and others. Producer/Director
Ron Howard is among those who has demonstrated
success in marketing films to this specific
audience, and we present the following novels by
Paul L. Thompson for film funding consideration:

Children
of
The West
|

Willow
